Much has been said about the humility and compassion of former Argentine Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio.
In keeping with his reputation, at his inauguration Mass today, Pope Francis I began his reign by focusing on “the poorest, the weakest, the least important, those who Matthew lists in the final judgment on love: the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the naked, the sick, those in prison.”
Pope Francis’ call for a “Church for the poor” should move us to remember in our prayers and giving the needs of the vulnerable and marginalized around the world, and the dedication of our Cross Catholic Outreach ministry partners who are bringing Christ’s love to the poorest of the poor.
